Green Building Resources
Listed below are a number of resources that are useful for finding and utilizing FSC-certified wood and wood products in green building projects.
The Rainforest Alliance has developed a Smart Guide to Green Building Wood Sources. The Smart Guide is a complete listing of FSC-certified suppliers in over 50 countries, with contact and product information, arranged according to product type. Building products included in the guide include: cabinets & casework, decking, doors & windows, engineered wood, exterior applications, flooring, framing lumber, millwork, office furniture, and plywood. The Rainforest Alliance also has a Green Building web page with additional information on building with FSC wood.

The Forest Stewardship Council has developed a guide to designing and building with FSC-certified wood. The Guide includes information on how to specify FSC wood for a project, case studies of projects that have been built with FSC wood, and additional resources on building with FSC.
The FSC has also developed a FindFSC service that builders can use to help locate companies that carry FSC wood products. Simply enter information about your project and your wood product needs, and that information will be distributed to hundreds of FSC-certified suppliers that might carry the products you need.
